The Famous Dr. Seuss Birthday

March 2nd is Dr. Seuss' birthday. He was born in 1904, and passed away in September 1991. His real name is Theodor Seuss Geisel, but he was known as Dr. Seuss. He inspired many children to learn o read, by only using 236 words, he wrote a book that many children like.

The most famous book of his is The Cat in the Hat. His principle is that children wants to be entertained like adults, so he makes reading for children interesting and fun, instead of educational.

Try get a copy of the book for your children and see for yourself whether or not your children find reading interesting.

The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Ratings

Jay Leno made a come back show "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno". I really love the guy. Of all the comedian, even compared to David Letterman, I love Jay Leno most. For me, he was funnier than any other guys out there. And his expression when telling jokes, it makes the jokes seem a lot funnier.

His come back show had earned 5.4 household rating compared to 3.0 for David Letterman. But no one is sure whether this high rating is due to post-Olympic buzz, the guestlist were Olympic skiing gold medalist Lindsey Vonn and also Jamie Foxx.

But anyway, the comeback show at 11:30, instead of 10:00, seemed a little offensive to me. In the interview with Vonn, Leno mocked her picture on last month's Sports Illustrated cover. Leno also mentioned that Vonn's husband is indeed her skiing coach and trainer. He asked, "does that work in all aspects, in the bedroom, everywhere?”. For me, these comments are totally unnecessary and inappropriate.

Oh well, let's see how the show goes on next week.

Perfect Victorian Style Mailboxes

My parents just finished building a new house, Victorian style. Oh my, I love it dearly. I have always been into those Victorian kind of stuffs, buildings, etc. The house is 3 levels, 800 square meters, and all the exterior and interior design is Victorian style. Even the furniture, bedding, wallpaper, you name it.

One thing is missing though, they have not found the matching Victorian mailbox. I search and asked around, and found this amazing Ecco mailboxes. Their collection is very complete, available in many different styles, materials and colours to choose from. Their prices are very good too, and also enjoy free shipping on mailboxes.

Me and my family particularly love the Ecco e6 mailbox. It is wall mounted, Victorian style, and love the bronze colour. What an elegant design and finishing, it’s so perfect for my parents’ house. It’s rust resistant, which is a very crucial feature, and it has UV resistant finishing. These factors improve the durability of the mailbox.

On the other hand, I also love the Ecco e8 mailbox. This is still Victorian style, but it is tower mailbox instead of wall mounted. Looking at this makes me feel as if I am in Europe. The Victorian motifs are carved on all 4 sides of the mailbox, very classic and elegant.

I think I will ask my parents to make some space on the pedestal to put this Ecco e8 mailbox. It is simply so unique and irresistibly beautiful. If you are into Victorian stuffs too, go check this one out and am sure you will love them big time.

Hannah Storm's Outfit

Hannah Storm's outfit is quite shocking. Red long sleeves top, and red boots?!! Although she looked amazing as always, but the whole outfit just don't go together well.

The host of ESPN's "Pardon The Interruption", Tony Kornheiser, commented on her outfit as "horrifying", "red go-go boots", and the skirt was "way too short for somebody her age". She is 47, fyi. He also added, “she’s what I would call a Holden Caulfield fantasy at this point".

His boss, Executive Vice President John Skipper, issued a statement to call the remarks as hurtful and inappropriate.

Although I agree with him that the outfit cause some pain in the eye, but his comments went a little too far. That's okay, Hannah. You still look gorgeous anyhow.

Fisher Price Toy Phone

My 1 year old baby loves telephone and mobile phone so much. Everytime when I am on the phone, she will crawl and approach me, stand up, and reach for my mobile phone. It's cute to see her doing that, but at times when I am in important calls, it is not that cute as whenever I try to avoid her, she will make complaint noises loudly.

So I finally get her this Fisher Price toy phone. She loves it as the toy phone has striking attractive colour, buttons to press, animals and their sounds, plus some catchy songs too.
Toy this simple but really help me a lot, as she will get her own toy phone whenever I am busy on the phone.

Better Home Entertainment

It is the high time to get a better way of self-pampering at home. Home should give the warm soothing relaxing feelings, and so is our room. Me and hubby decided to get HD TV programming for better home entertainment. We both love spending the night after a tiring working day by relaxing on bed, watching Desperate Housewives for me, and Sports channels for my hubby.

We asked for recommendations from friends. Many gave positive feedback for Blog Television. They have great DIRECT TV offers at great prices, with over 130 HD Channels. Watching television will not be the same anymore with so many of best HD channels. There are many great packages to choose from, with prices starting as low as $29.99 per month.

The current promotion is free HD DVR and HD Receiver. DIRECTV HD DVR is extremely useful as it allows recording and pause our fave shows, even for live shows!!! So we won’t be missing any good shows anymore which are screened during working hours. We can stay outside longer for dinner and do not have to rush back home to watch our fave shows in time.

Getting all ready to watch World Cup 2010 in HD DIRECTTV. Woohoo!!! Oh, have I mentioned about free professional installation too? It just can’t get any better than this.
